Welcome to Putnam Memorial State Park, the oldest state park in Connecticut. Located on the site of the Winter Encampment of General Israel Putnam's Continental troops from December 1778 - May 1779, the park is dedicated to the role they played in the Revolutionary War in helping secure America's independence.

Putnam Memorial State Park is located at the Intersection of Rte 58 and Rte 107 in Redding, Connecticut. If you wish to view photos of the Park or share your own photos, we are now on Flickr.

The Park is Currently Open, but the Visitor Center and Museum are Closed for the Winter.

Pets on a leash are permitted in picnic areas and on hiking trails.

This website has been developed by the Friends & Neighbors (FANs) of Putnam Park, whose mission is to help promote the historical, educational and recreational values of the park.

The FANs group is always looking for new members to join the group or who wish to make a donation in support of our mission.
